What is your business?
Is there a story behind your business?
Having coordinated skin cancer prevention and awareness events for a hospital cancer program, I understand the harmful effects the sun has on our skin. Spray tans provide a safe way to get radiant skin, and are even endorsed by The American Cancer Society!
What problem(s) are you/your business trying to help solve?
Everyone wants to feel healthy and look their best. I started Glow Gorgeous as a way to provide clients with an easy way to obtain a natural-looking glow or tan to compliment their skin, without the harmful effects of the sun’s UV exposure.
How is your company changing the world?
I like to think I’m helping women (and men) of all ages, shapes and sizes boost their confidence and feel great about the skin they’re in!
Why do you like being a part of the bigger CI Works puzzle?
I love being part of a business community! There are really exciting things going on at CI works with great people, and I’m proud to be a part of it!
What do you hope your company’s next milestone will be?
I currently carry vegan self-tanning mouse and spray, which are perfect for in-between spray tans or extended vacations, in addition to body washes, soaps and lotions specifically formulated to extend the life of a spray tan. I would love to see my business expand to include “boutique” retail items for my clients, like jewelry, swimsuits and clothing. I also look forward to continuing to develop my relationships and hopefully collaborating with local businesses and organizations on some joint initiatives in the future!
Are there any causes you are passionate about?
I love animals and care about our environment! It’s important to me to only carry cruelty-free products, with as little ingredients as possible. I’m proud that the solutions I use are ECO-certified and PETA-approved!
What is your biggest fear?
Each and every client is important to me. I take the time to consult with every new client, so that they feel comfortable before their service. My biggest fear would be failing to provide a great service and experience for my clients.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
I will celebrate 2 years in business this July. What started out as a mobile-only business has slowly grown. I’m so excited to now offer spray tans for my clients at my studio space at CI Works.
What is something most people don’t know about you/your brand?
I understand that “one size does not fit all” when it comes to skin tone and personal preference. Whether a subtle glow, a dark tan, or somewhere in between, my knowledge and expertise ensures every client receives a desired result! No “orange” tans…guaranteed!
What advice do you have for other small businesses?
No matter how small your idea… make a go of it! Trust that with passion and dedication you can turn your idea into something great!
